Eric Auger ing., - President |
Mr. Auger possesses more than 27 years of experience in design and project management related to turbine-generator refurbishment, and new unit installations. As a mechanical design engineer, he was involved and he has participated actively in all phases of projects, from the design, manufacturing and installation of the turbine and generator units, to the development of technical specifications, site supervision and follow-up for major projects.
As a consulting engineer he held different position such as project engineer, technical manager and project manager. He performed several feasibility studies and rehabilitation projects of turbine and generator. He did hydraulic and mechanical sizing of units and hydro development for both the mini hydro of few megawatts to large hydro of hundreds of megawatts, he prepared drawings and specifications and did the manufacturing and installation follow up. As project director, he was responsible for the management, administration and control of short-term project from a few thousand dollars to multi-year long-term project worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Today Mr. Auger is the founder, the president and the principal engineer at GTA HYDRO Inc. an engineering firm specialized in services and consulting for hydraulic turbine and generator. |
Jean-Michel Julien Eng., M.Eng., PMP. - Vice-President
Mr. Julien possesses more than 14 years of experience in design and project management related to turbine-generator refurbishment, and new unit installations. As a mechanical design engineer, he was involved and he has participated actively in all phases of projects, from the design, manufacturing and installation of the turbine and generator units, to the development of technical specifications, site supervision and follow-up for major projects
As a consulting engineer he has performed several feasibility studies as well as rehabilitation and new design projects. His project experience ranges from untouched sites under potential development studies, to existing powerhouses requiring upgrades or rehabilitations. Jean-Michel has obtained a master’s degree in hydro-electric engineering and a certification as a professional project manager (PMP) issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Today Mr. Julien is partner and Vice President of GTA HYDRO inc. an engineering firm specialized engineering services and consulting for hydraulic turbine and generator units. |
Yannick Méthot Eng., M.Eng., - Engineering Manager
Yannick is an engineer with more than 19 years of experience relating to the design and refurbishment of hydraulic turbines and generators.
Yannick started his career working for a major hydraulic turbine manufacturer, for 5 years he held several engineering roles, including mechanical and hydraulic design of turbines, model and prototype test engineer and proposal engineer for small and large hydro projects. During his 7 years as an engineering consultant, Yannick had the role of project engineer and project manager and executed several feasibility studies, unit refurbishment projects and the mechanical and hydraulic sizing of new powerhouse for small and large hydro projects. Yannick also worked for a second major turbine manufacturer where he was a project engineer before becoming head of technical proposals where he was responsible for all aspects related to engineering for the technical proposal in the Canadian market. Today, Yannick is Engineering Manager at GTA Hydro Inc. |
Alexandre Trudel, Eng., M.A.Sc - Project Engineer
Alexandre is a mechanical engineer with 12 years of experience in hydropower relating to the refurbishment and design of new hydropower turbine-generator units.
After completing a master’s degree with IREQ and a world leading turbine supplier; studying fatigue crack propagation in turbine runners, Alexandre started his professional career as a mechanical research engineer where he led several R&D projects addressing varied technical challenges such as turbine-generator unit monitoring and vibrations field assessments, mechanical design and validation of new turbine concepts, metallurgical and welding studies, as well as fatigue and fracture mechanics design tools development. He also held the role of mechanical engineer in charge of all mechanical and fatigue validations as part of the hydraulic development and model testing of a new peaking high head turbine design for a greenfield international project. Alexandre then went on to take the position of project engineer specializing in turbine-generator units as an engineering consultant. Alexandre is co-convenor of IEC TC4 Working Group 37 and holds the role of Project Engineer at GTA Hydro Inc. |
